Introducing the Village of Dannemora
Dannemora is a small village in northern New York centrally located in Clinton County.
Permanent settlement in Dannemora began in 1838 and Dannemora was officially incorporated as a village in 1901, growing up around the Clinton Correctional Facility. Clinton Correctional is the largest and third oldest maximum security prison in the state and provides employment opportunities for many people living in our area.
Dannemora is a great place to live in and to raise a family. With a small population, our village provides a safe and friendly atmosphere and we welcome all to our neighborhood. The forests, mountains, and lakes surrounding our region provide great scenery and excellent recreational activities. We are also only a few hours away from Montreal and only a half hour away from Plattsburgh and Lake Champlain so come see what Dannemora and our region has to offer!
