The Planning Board's responsibility is to review proposals affecting land use in the Village. The Board processes applications for site plans, minor site plans and change of use. The Planning Board also advises the Village Board and makes recommendations to them on the granting of special permits, zoning changes, and improvements or new construction.
Applicants may contact the Planning Board in the Village office to have their applications placed on the agenda.

The Zoning Board of Appeals meets to consider applications for special permits, and for variances from the Zoning Code. The Zoning Board of Appeals is charged with hearing appeals to the Village Zoning Ordinances. The purposes of this Board is to provide for orderly growth and change within the Village of Dannemora and to provide for the health, safety, and general welfare of existing and future residents.
New York State law requires that the Village Board appoint a Zoning Board of Appeals which shall have the power to vary or modify the application of any of the regulations or provisions of the Zoning Ordinance relating to the use, construction or alteration of buildings or structures or the use of land in accordance with New York State Law. It also interprets the Zoning Ordinance when requested to by the Code Enforcement Officer.
The Village of Dannemora Zoning Board of Appeals meets as needed. All meetings are subject to change due to holidays or weather. The meetings are open to the public.
